Yale-New Haven Transplantation Center (YNHTC) was recently presented with a check for more than $95,000 by the Danbury Dialysis Fund, Inc. The nonprofit was originally founded over three decades ago to assist end-stage renal dialysis and transplant patients within the Danbury Hospital community.
The Fund - and its mission to improve the quality of life, care and general wellness of Dialysis and Transplant patients - recently moved to Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH). Dialysis and Transplant patients being treated at YNHH will be eligible for assistance from the fund as needed.
Presenting the check to (l-r) Tucker Leary, Vice President, Administration, YNHH and Richard Formica, MD, are Jeanne and Edward Samuels. Mr. Samuels, who was a transplant recipient 31 years ago, helped to establish the Danbury Dialysis Fund in the early 1980’s. Mrs. Samuels served as president of the fund for over a decade.
