The Closer to Free Fund provides essential support for cancer research and patient care. Your donations are critical to ensure that new research can be pursued without delay, promising treatments are aggressively developed and patient care is continuously enhanced. Provides support for cardiac patients and staff for the purposes of enhanced treatment and education. Support includes holistic therapies for long term cardiac patients awaiting a heart transplant and enduring prolonged interventional procedures. Education for staff helps advance their holistic and technical skills for interventional procedures requiring sophisticated educational training.
Unrestricted gifts made to The Fund, support the mission of Yale New Haven and provide ongoing philanthropic support where the need is greatest. Throughout the year, The Fund supports vital programs, services and facilities within the hospital.

Provides for critical investments in state-of-the-art equipment and the very latest technology that helps our dedicated physicians, nurses and staff members provide the best care possible to our youngest patients.
Provides financial assistance and education to patients and their families in need of a solid organ transplant (liver, kidney or heart). Assistance may include the payment of insurance premiums, mortgage and utility payments and needed prescriptions. Financial assistance is also granted to the organ donor patient.
The Family Resource Center provides access to computers, the Internet, a universal cell phone charger, a parent library of books, resources and information related to children’s health care, financing and advocacy. A schedule for coffee hours and educational events is posted outside the center. Caring, professional staff is also available to bring information to patient rooms if necessary.
